Creating Wellness offers a wide variety of services to assist athletes of all types. Our services are based on some of the most common needs for athletes of all levels. Below are some of the categories of care considered when tailoring a care plan for athletes.
Treatment of Injuries - It is undoubtedly a problem that all athletes run into...an injury that keeps them from participating. This acute phase of care requires accurate diagnosis of the injury, innovative state-of-the-art therapies and treatment plans that are based on the goals and safety of the athlete. After we help to properly identify the injury we offer techniques such and chiropractic care, manual therapies, IASTM, traditional physical therapy procedures, kinesiotape, unique alternative therapies such as FSM, cold laser therapy, anodyne therapy, as well as programs and devices designed for home care.
Concussions - There has been recent advancements in the understanding of the impact that concussions and traumatic brain injuries have on both the short-term and long term-health of individuals and athletes alike. Many of these concussion symptoms can be subtle and difficult to identify, and they certainly get overlooked by the athlete themselves. It is essential that a proper evaluation is performed and monitored for return to play status. Our office is certified to assist athletes in efficient recovery and determination of when an individual can safely return to play and/or normal activity.
Prevention of Injuries - It is just as important, if arguably not more important, to identify the potential for injury and prevent them from happening to begin with. Evaluations for lack of joint stability, improper muscle firing patterns and asymmetrical movements, lack of joint mobility, improper muscular and fascial tone can identify need for improvement to improve function and prevent injuries. We offer a unique evaluation and home care program (MoveWel)l that can help address these issues.
Performance Care - Performance care seeks to fine tune the athletes function to help them attain their optimal level of performance. Identification of subtle imbalances, whether it has to do with structure and/or stability, functional movements and/or mobility, or a neurological motor pattern and/or neurosensory reflex systems can have a major impact on sports performance and outcome. Professional athletes have utilized chiropractic care and related services for decades to gain a competitive edge, whether it be improving hand eye coordination for a baseball player to improved muscle firing during a golfer's swing, athletes of all types can benefit from care to obtain their optimal performance.
Nutrition for Athletes - Dietary needs are as unique for athletes as it is for their physical care. Appropriate macro-nutrient content and specialized diets must be considered and administered safely in addition to the details of proper supplementation, especially when it comes to collegiate and professional athletes.
